  1. Hi ausadvance, just wondering if the pilot or anyone else who witnessed this accident/incident, has reported it to RAAus? There’s no record/mention of it in the RAAus accident and defect summaries. Cheers
  2. Hi FlyingVizsla, thank you for your reply. I’d like to provide you further details and reasons why it raises questions about the level of RAAus involvement, but it may offend some viewers...and possibly some offenders.
  3. There's a familiar face in the July 2017 RAAus directors election spiel edition of the Sport Pilot magazine. It, along with a number of other items and events, again raises the question of the level of RAAus involvement in this debacle.
  4. Does anyone know the story or details behind the below entry on page 9 of the online RAAus Accident and defect summaries? Date Location State Aircraft Model Engine Model Summary 1/7/2019 Kelso QLD drifter dfifter ? Seems quite a long time for no further details to have been added. There was word that some of the RAAus hierarchy had been up here not long after that date, and was wondering if it may have been related? Cheers
  5. I’ve got a reply from the FB page Admin. You should able to select the “Join” tab, and then they just require you to answer the questions. Cheers
  6. The “Aircraft Crashes of Northern Queensland and the Pacific during World War 2” FB page has still been getting content added/uploaded since then. The latest was about half an hour ago. I’ve messaged the page Admin to find out what the go is, and will let you know ASAP. Cheers
  7. Don’t forget the equity fund that owns 50%, plus any other associates that may have been getting money channeled to them. It’d be interesting to see the level of involvement of RAAus in all this.
  8. In case any World War 2 aviation history buffs are interested, the above mentioned Facebook page is now “Aircraft crashes of northern queensland and the pacific during world war 2”. They’ve been gathering some really great information and photos. Cheers. P.S. I’m not associated with them, I just have a passion for aviation history.
  9. In the December 2019 RAAus E-News Issue 64, the RAAus CEO wrote "I’d also like to thank our staff who have done a wonderful job again this year as we work with our 11,000 strong community". Does anyone actually know what the exact RAAus membership total is? And has RAAus removed from the membership total, those people who are no longer financial/current members of RAAus, and also those that are deceased, either from accidents or natural causes? The mis-match of statistics, etc. plays a part in the credibility of the RAAus and its members. Cheers
  10. The ATSB has released a preliminary animation of the accident via its new Whizz-Bang Media Studio... Heck, don't be surprised if the ATSB bases their investigations and report off of it.
  11. Their aircraft stack ratio seems to nearly rival that of the WW2 Empire Air Training Scheme. “Tally Ho Chaps, we need to get you up “Training” before ol’Jerry decides to pull his money out of the equity fund”...
  12. Same Investigator and Coroner as the Young and Friend accident that occurred in February 2015. I personally don't believe that that accident was investigated to the level that it should have been. If it had, Mr Millard may still be alive. Cheers
  13. If the aviation community wants to be respected and considered true aviators , then the level of public interest, low or not, shouldn't be used as an excuse for not investigating accidents and incidents correctly and thoroughly. Most cases seem to indicate an attitude of "Don't go looking too hard and chasing the real facts, in case you might find something you don't want to be found". Also, it doesn't cost a great deal to carry an effective investigation, so the availability of formal funding shouldn't really play a part either. If you can carry out basic troubleshooting, etc., you have the foundation skill set to carry out/play a part in an investigation. Long story short, it can be down to having the right Attitude and Approach. Cheers
  14. They call it "Scapegoating". I'll bet you a 1x year RAAus membership, the RAAus management/board were more aware and involved, than what they are letting on. Plus, didn't the RAAus Chairman claim that he came up with the idea for Airventure? Fly Tornado, you posted a copy of the/his article back in March-ish this year. It's an insult to Paul Poberezny and the EAA. Also, wasn't there much more to the story of why Ausfly and Airventure Australia became separate events? Cheers
