  1. I guess it's an indication of the extent the RAA have embellished themselves in corporate structure when they would have gladly taken the money from a profitable Airventure but baulked at taking responsibility for a loss.... Of note, there is no mention of this mess in the latest RAA E-news .......
  2. You make a very good point! I guess "on the day" ticket sales helped subsidised the aircraft build.
  3. That could well be, now the precedent has been set.....
  4. My mistake.....won't happen again.....?
  5. I'm not sure if this is the one, 33 G as there seems to be a couple of reduction gear ratios. 50:1 and 312:1....... and some others it seems. This is the pdf for the 50:1 unit.... https://produktinfo.conrad.com/datenblaetter/225000-249999/244023-da-01-en-GETRIEBEMOTOR_1_50_TYP_33G.PDF?direct=
  6. You really need to check current draw through the range of movement. Nev maybe correct that the limit is set wrong. I would expect a constant current draw throughout the movement range while engine is not running. If it runs out of "stroke" that will definately make motors fail. Skippy makes a very good point about cable connections and size. My aircraft mfg undersized my battery cable significantly for example. Now corrected to Rotax specs. Is the motor labeled or have specs? Manufacturer or model number?
  7. In the Flight Design CTSW I've looked at, the motor drives a screw so I guess there is no load on the electric motor unless changing pitch. I would really hope it's not the motor holding the pitch on yours.....
  8. Could be a lubrication issue. Inadequate lubrication or wrong type? (Not sure exactly what requires lubrication on your system. Linkages, threads and/or bearings) Sounds like the motor is struggling to overcome the forces required to change pitch. You could probably test current draw of the motor to see if it is within spec.
  9. Why wage war to take over a country when it can be bought for half the price.?
  10. A bit better than the ones I saw last week....... or is it the thought that counts?
  11. Prop rpm is a major consideration. As yenn stated, more rpm requires less diameter to stay under speed of sound at the blade tip.
  12. I would have no problem at all paying $144 for a week or so hangarage while enroute.(In fact, I would seek it out) VERY light, empty aircraft with high lift wings in any sort of mild wind actively want to become kites. Money well spend for piece of mind and aircraft security. ..
  13. This one has full size aviation jacks. https://www.sportys.com/pilotshop/pj2-handheld-com-radio.html
  14. I think they work out that you need to be earning a certain amount of income to start paying the loan back.
  15. Motorcycle shops often have Plexus for helmet visors.
  16. Yeah, I probably have. 80 to 100 per year on average. However, how many hours I do is none of the RAA's business.?
  17. 7 years with Plexus and no problems every time before I fly. One cloth to initally wipe and another to finish. Don't use dirty cloth. The dirt will scratch. Ocassionally use Plastx which is a cream type cleaner if a thorough clean is required, especially with water marks. Used probably once a year.... NOTE. NEVER CLEAN IN CIRCLES. UP/DOWN AND SIDE TO SIDE ONLY.
  18. Plenty come with just the 2 airfilters on the carbs. This means they are using hot internal air and won't make as much power as a cold air fed engine. Whether it is a realistically quantifiable difference is debatable. Often just having the filters means you don't need a de ice carb heat system.
  19. Sitting on a spare lot amongst hangars at Bunbury. Looks serviceable. Will try and chase up some info... Anyone with Ozrunways can see it on "camera view". (Might need landscape view) http://vh-jttvsaustralia.blogspot.com/
  20. VH JTT TB20 has sat lonely and unloved out in the weather for some time..... https://www.jetphotos.com/registration/VH-JTT
  21. Yes, but isn't this thread about medicals that allow that? Maybe I've got it wrong.
  22. "Amateur pilots" flying in "amateur" airspace is one thing Bruce, but mixing with large RPT domestic and international flights is another....
