  1. I think you are looking at/commenting on the wrong engine FT. Go to http://www.vikingaircraftengines.com/ and you will see, as the name implies, they sell aircraft engines. That means, engines designed to go into aircraft.
  2. A big:welcome: to you Scooter75!
  3. That is just the problem. The most likely options for ultralight/LSA/RA-Aus aircraft are: 1. Rotax (EU) 2. UL Power (EU) 3. D Motor (EU) 4. Jabiru (I won't say where this comes from but I will give you a clue: it's the same country where I am from) 5. Viking (Japan {Honda} + US based PSRU designed and added by Jan Eggenfellner) 6. BEX-2017 ...in progress (Australian designed, Chinese made) (feel to extend the list if anyone thinks I have left a significant engine out)
  4. Has anyone in Australia made a Savannah version of the spring bungee replacement.
  5. Lovely seat-of-the-pants flying.
  6. All references I consulted tonight calls it after takeoff, not at takeoff.
  7. Every flight that is airborne needs to land eventually: perhaps it should have been named EFBL (Engine Failure Before Landing)?
  8. Very informative!
  9. This is useful information ...and it is keeping me inspired to build my own Sav.
  10. Great progress Bob. I can't wait to see the fruit of your labour soon.
  11. That's nice to hear: an member-based organisation working for its members!
  12. Yes, that was taken from my front window
  13. Is this similar to the CAA red tape applied to Jabiru engines?
  14. This is the view we had from our region this morning (taken from ground level, not from the air):
  15. The site worked well for me: just about an instant connection. There was one problem, however: the aircraft listed are all too expensive .
  16. If they send a free engine to me, I will write a manual!
  17. And, if suicide was the cause, the pilot certainly achieved that. This is the costliest and largest lost aircraft search in the world's history and there is still not a sign of it.
  18. I fully agree, dutchroll! I haven't swerved from that opinion either.
  19. It could be regarded as somewhat tolerable if only it was female circumcision used in many (but not all) the Muslim parts of the world. But what these people call female circumcision is a euphemism for cliterodectomy and/or infibulation. This is not circumcision at all. Thankfully, the United Nations and the World Health Organisation has identified these "operations" (frequently done without the use of anaesthetic) by the correct term: Female Genital Mutilation. Don't be fooled by the practitioners of this practice that this is merely "female circumcision": they are trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the West. Mutilation is the correct term because it describes a process that is irreversible: once a young girl's clitoris has been removed, it is gone forever ...with all the lifelong implications that brings for the victim. It is an un-Christian, uncivilised and barbaric practice that should not be tolerated in Australia ...even if this is done clandestinely.
  20. I love it! It fits well.
  21. I am sure that you have read this Mark but for the benefit of others, here is a good description of the PegaStol wing by forum member JG3: StolSpeed Aerodynamics - Performance Enhancement for Light Aircraft
  22. Otherwise we will have to have this thread renamed from "Pauline got a jab" to "Pauline got a job" (in the Senate)
  23. I wonder if you would be able to fit long range tanks to the Pegasus wings?
  24. I can't wait until the XPH (H for high wing version) is produced with a decent, easy to operate folding wing system.
