  1. That should help Malcolm reach a budget surplus, if implemented fully.
  2. I agree. Many people lose sight of relativity. Flying has always been an expensive business and flight training (which includes aircraft and instructor time) especially so. There are three certainties in life: 1. Death. 2. Taxes 3. Flight training is expensive.
  3. I don't think they make an RA-Aus compliant version. http://www.xtiaircraft.com/trifan-600/
  4. Just a few big steps to go. You can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  5. That will be useful!
  6. You may have a very low serial number as they are only starting to ship the 6 cylinder D-Motor from mid-year.
  7. But, you might be limited in off-airfield take-offs and landings?
  8. Hanging around, as the US military seem to do, after the job is done is expensive and serves little purpose. Putin seems smarter than the Yanks.
  9. According to the bottom of this website page (http://www.d-motor.eu/nl/price-37.htm), the warranty is 2 years or 300 hours whatever comes first.
  10. I am interested how it will go with the D Motor in the long run.
  11. I agree, it does sound really unjust. Surely, someone responsible for the mess should sort it out. I hope you'll get the missing kilograms back soon JJ!
  12. It is an interesting concept but are there any other planes that fly successfully with 10 degrees negative flap?
  13. Very nice. Your instrument panel has really morphed since I last saw it.
  14. The X Air Australia website says 560 kg "maximum weight" (see http://www.mcp.com.au/xair/aircraft_models/hanuman/hanuman.html) but I understand the same plane is sold as X Air LSA at 600 kg "gross weight" (see http://www.x-airlsa.com/). Go figure!
  15. Bex may supply a very user-friendly aircraft engine, which is so frugal that the Turkish Air Force won't have to buy ISIS oil at half the market price.
  16. I thought that this may have been a Channel 7 news item.
  17. I am sure that that factor is the main driving force for bigger aircraft.
  18. Did you consider Mark Kyle's fuel set up?
  19. I hope that it will be a successful pilot shop!
  20. Is that 10 parts per million?
  21. Haha Rick, you caught me out. The second 'wait' was definitely meant to have been 'weight'. Our friend R/A has already answered my question: 80 g. It will be worth the extra weight and the extra wait
  22. The X Air Standard has a 9.8 metre wingspan. The F has a wingspan of 10.05 metres, so the F has a slightly higher wingspan. Furthermore, the X Air Standard stalls at 26 knots (30 mph) while the F stalls at 27 knots (31 mph) no flaps and 23 knots (27 mph) with flaps. The cruise speeds are also different: 56 knots (65 mph) for the Standard and 59 knots (68 mph) for the X Air F. <---these are for the Rotax 582. There doesn't seem to be that much difference really.
  23. The two things that seem to be the most variable about different people's Savannahs are (a) the engine; and, (b) the paint system. I find it difficult to decide. It may be useful for someone to start a Savannah Painting System thread and have everything in one location. There seem to be so many alternative ideas!
  24. Why not wait to get something that will become a low-maintenance issue. I wonder how much extra wait the new nose leg bracket is?
