  2. I think Ian should organise a brass pipe band and jumper out of cake for this occasion I think its a great achievement ................ shows ticker
  3. I reckon it will be a worthy event when Facthunter will break 10,000 ............ it's close Is this top score or has someone else got there ?
  4. ...................... what does the just about taking off button do ?
  5. that's a fair bit of de-acceleration .............. wondering if feet were glued to the pedals

  7. wings: 64 bags of cement tail: 18 bags of cement engine mount: 16 bags of cement ......................................................... Acro - the real number is 97 bags
  8. expensive tastes Hongie - try and curb that if you can ............................... I'd guess $ 4000 for the F4 bar stool (eject seat)
  9. I've enjoyed reading what employers think are ideal attributes a candidate needs for their job ............................. a couple of things to ponder though: Thing 1: no matter who you are you always serve someone (disregarding the big fella upstairs, of course) ............ so those things you like to see in your candidates...................................... are they the things that are seen of you, above ? Thing 2: not everyone has a good handshake, or hands, or a good haircut or good clothes. Sometimes when you employ people they may not fit your team - this technique should be tried also - its called giving someone a 'break' Thing 3: candidate selection can't be an objective process - it has to be subjective (particularly with an interview panel !)
  10. yes ...... knot a place you would want to make a spelling mistake
  11. wear tidy clothes but make sure one piece of apparel has damage (a corner of a pocket torn, belt frayed, neck tie 'off centre', one lens fogged, one dark blue sock - one black; etc) .............. if you are up to scratch this could generate a critical sympathy factor that might get you in the front door ......................... to the base of the slippery pole good luck in any interview cfm56
  12. Obvious question XP503 - but curious ............... how does this person enter the hangar - if the hangar is lockable can't the entry point be made more secure .................... redo locks and reissue new controlled keys (prevention might be cheaper than bait)
  13. why is it that an ultralight aeroplane is probably a more sophisticated platform (on average ? ....................... cost wise anyway) than a UAV ..................... but a commercial operation is allowed only in UAV is this decision 'sub' or 'ob' - jective ?
  14. could be the difference is at the beginning you try and figure whats in front of you and go for it ........................ and the other - when older - is you reflect on 'what the hell was that all about'
  15. Thanks Maj Facthunters comment is a good reminder - like a master plan - do we have such a mechanism (policeies or master plan) to know in what direction we are going and priority of issues (so everyone can see ?) ........... or is that well outlines in the GM's duites ? (as you say)
  16. Don't know much about this organisational stuff ..................... and I'm guessing the GM's salary is a big secret Let's say the GM is paid $ 140k + expenses Why not empoy more than 1 of them - it would be costly but in the scheme of things RAA needs continuity in the GM position I suspect that after every year or so (or less) when the positon becomes vacant ............... the potential for achievement is lost and the whole thing winds down, starts all over again and reverts back to the most urgent issue
  17. who knows where MH370 is or why its there any theory is worth considering we don't have too many options at this stage the best we have is a auto submerged computer looking for aluminium in potential sludge 3 miles below water level if the 777 hit the water (or suffered some other fate in the ocean) ................ this does not explain why there was no debris finding ANY debris will be helpful
  18. nothings free .......................... someone always pays (know what you mean though)
  19. the one out front seems to have the easiest job
  20. none have ISIC cards
  21. sounds low at the threshold - probably a peripheral digger or a digger from a blind spot
  22. I always find it a hoot that each time you get a new card you have to prove who you are ..................... this logic infers that your existing card is not satisfactory evidence to confirm that you are ................... you in other words the legislator does not even recognise their own card as satisfactory ID which then implies to me that even the legislator considers them worthless
  23. the following is advice from a pilot - not an instructor - you must speak to your instructor .................. with instructor (and the stalls) fly around slow with a notch of flap (if you have flaps) - there is no harm in this - it is good approach and fly down the strip in this configuration and see what that feels like (if the instructor is not breaking any rules of course)
  24. thats what we want to know about HITC - thanks
  25. I have no need to defend media outlets or journalists GG & FH ........ if the person that created this thread (hhelgesen) was a journalist you might be kicked out of the 'flat earth society !'
