  1. While RAAus may not be that great I don't rejoice in it's Problems. It NEEDS to continue to exist IF an alternative to VH is to be maintained. Nev
  2. So much NOT mentioned there. At least it advises Caution.. Nev
  3. SAAA aren't very Pro RAAus at any time and don't get involved with Issuing licences. Likely just be another "Rumour mill". You were worried about Your Liability as a member/ shareholder Primarily as I recall.. Nev
  4. It's done it's best to survive but lost it's fundamental reason to BE. Members wanted Higher, Faster and it became more complex and expensive. Structures can always be improved. (Even Basic ones. Revisit the Parasol? The Saphire would be very clean as an electric as the exhaust system was draggy hanging out the side. As it was, it could often stay in the air with a sick motor and could glide.. Nev
  5. Sounds reasonable to me. Should reassure some people. Nev
  6. You have to log in to read it all. It increases your accelerate-stop safety distance. "Someone" will land short in it one day. I'd rather have the extra runway if it could be arranged. Nev
  7. I think you are on the Money there. Nev
  8. I can't work out the type. It's pretty light construction. I don't think you'd land there by choice. Nev
  9. Used on a moon surface vehicle.. (Smooth Vibrations?)
  10. Mortein would kill it. but it would shake to pieces anyhow. Nev
  11. There are DEGREES of Everything. In this case EXTREMELY would be appropriate. Nev
  12. The BAD weather CAUSED the accident. He flew better than most would to stay in the air where he did. HE was overconfident and took risks and would have kept on taking risks most likely. The decision to fly could well be questioned in Hindsight, but we are all good at that. brendAn the LAW existing at the Time is what has to be applied . You have to KNOW the LAW but not what It may be changed to at some future Point, which would be clearly impossible to do. Nev
  13. If you get EVEN feeding from 2 tanks it's a fluke. Slight differences count for a lot. You can't count on it being even. You can equi time them. Nev
  14. Then it cannot apply retrospectively to this case. Nev
  15. Part 103 or equivalent be allowed. You Obviously didn't bother to go back to look. Nev
  16. In that scenario you'd have to be prepared to send the "Difficult" person elsewhere. That also is likely to attract adverse reaction rightly or wrongly and you just pass the problem along to someone else to deal with. Easy to be wise(r) AFTER the fact. Nev
  17. It won't happen unless the AUTHORITY is behind it. As I said with the reasons back about 7 posts. Nev
  18. Be nice to know what they did I know some beefing up was done but aluminium has it's limits where rigidity and tensile strength are Involved. Nev
  19. Dowels won't stop it They can even weaken the faces if you aren't careful. Nev
  20. A lot of certified aircraft have traps for the Unwary built into their fuel systems. The C 54/DC 4 is one such system You can lose the 4 engines. with air in the system. or vent fuel overboard. Nev
  21. Digital doesn't do it for Me, sorry,. IF you don't get away early in the day the clouds outclimb you. Having a turboprop engine is a bit more reassuring than Pistons. Nev
  22. The "crush" on the main bearing shells also being affected and the heat won't transfer out of them Properly. The stud tensions vary due to their Long length and the thermal expansion difference with the Alloy. IF they fret, there's also fatigue happening. If any decking is done ,other distances change.. There would have to be specified limits to it. (There is on other motors). I doubt Rotax would like it being done. Nev
  23. Members won't want a fee rise and whatever they do they will have some criticism of. "Keeping a Group of Pilots HAPPY" is a definition of the Impossible. Nev
  24. The Printed version is a significant cost item that has to be Borne by members or have some other way of offsetting the cost and that is what you have now. Nev
  25. I don't know what's available. I have operated them and it's not a new idea.. It makes a foolproof system. Nev
