  1. Cessna's no strut wings haven't been that much of a great success. A C-182 is a great plane. I think you mean well WORN track.. Nev
  2. The DEAL in Australia seems a much better one, regarding the Crankshafts. Nev
  3. Disc pads don't move far back off the discs or there's a lot of pedal travel before the brakes apply. Nev
  4. Time to check the condition of the Cups in the Cylinders me thinks and make sure they suit the Oil you use. I recommend the Red oil (Mineral). The other is corrosive and only needed when the brakes reach a high temperature. Nev
  5. The best adjustable reamers are Aust made Suttons. Chinese stuff CAN be alright IF they build to the right standard. Nev
  6. You should be right with a Drifter. Nev
  7. It's an incredibly BS content PA. I seriously doubt it's genuine. Nev
  8. It's not your ordinary Tinny and it probably runs quick. The figures for the amount of diesel saved are there. That Bloke is a Visionary and full credit to Him
  9. People who own Jabiru Motors have put up with with a lot of crap over the years. It's really not fair. . 2 strokes have by far the Highest failure rates and some rare old engines would be worse still. Flown with due regard for the risk and a suitable choice of location it's all manageable. A lot of the stats were due to management. running out of fuel is seemingly becoming more common. This comment is general, not directly referencing this incident. Nev
  10. When you hire you KNOW what you are up for, but you don't know how the plane has been operated by other flyers before you get it. Aircraft ownership costs are High particularly if you don't use it that often. Hiring at weekends can be difficult and you can be under pressure to have it back at the time you said you would. Nev
  11. She didn't turn out to be a model wife. . Nev
  12. One of my childhood friends spent a lot of money on a Model. He married her. Nev
  13. Lots of things in the aviation game (and some others) have a "Shelf life". I really can't see how someone can just sign that off. Seals and O rings go hard. A Rotax 912 etc relies on sealing to send the oil back to the tank. 2 strokes run lean if the crankshaft seals let air in.. Nev
  14. Don't we call them Cars Here. "Auto" means you don't have to manually change the Gears. Nev
  15. I don't agree with your Logic. Have you ever done what you speak of?
  16. Pretty untidy Landing but they got away with it. Nev
  17. Recalls and extending warrantees are a good thing. Nev
  18. Electric would be a much more reliable engine with reduced SKILLS to learn how to operate it. More time to concentrate on other things more important. Nev
  19. It's acted and not technically accurate. Very common with Aeroplane related stuff.. Excusable in "Flying High" or the Magnificent Men and their Flying Machines. Both Terribly Funny. Nev
  20. IF the Tires are flat the Batteries would also be flat. A couple of unforms a Derilect plane and a camera. Nev
  21. Different Cause in the Jabiru. Some similarity. I'm not that stupid as to be confusing the two... Jabiru fretted the cases .Nev
  22. Well spotted. The passengers (if any) would not be locked inside, either. Nev
  23. I'm pretty hard on them all But a lot are compromised by Poor management Particularly starting techniques and Avoiding Prohibited rpms, MP/ Rpm combinations over propping and using motor for short periods where they never get Properly warmed up. Motor cowled with adjustable Cowl flaps and properly Baffled with Air blast tubes on the parts that need them to be specially cooled and Lagged fuel Lines etc. ie Properly Installed . Nev
