  1. There's plenty not right there. Very bad outcome. Lucky to survive. Nev
  2. I put in a lot of ribbon (manna) gums Mike on my block and the koala's would strip them Bare. Eventually Dogs got all the koalas and many of the owners thought that was funny. Pretty SICK I reckon. At one time I could always find one to show visitors without much effort. Nev
  3. Not used on descent. . Icing is still catching people. Alcohol spray plus heat is used on P&W R 2000. with supercharger. Nev
  4. I usually beat them off the mark. Nev
  5. I've had experience with an electric one on a HKS. I reckon you DO need something, and it has to be demonstrated to work. Nev
  6. You get horn blasts from behind here when you stop for a red light. Try Bell st. . Nev
  7. You are braver than ME.. with just those conical filters. . Nev
  8. All explained. Watching some of these blokes practising their routine get's me very frightened of what little room for error exists at times. Nev
  9. Thet only keep out grasshoppers and large rocks anyhow. You can see through them from one side to the other. Where's your engine anti Icing? Nev
  10. Skip,You get "thing" when people don't respond to your questions and then dismiss their contributions when the do.. It JUST works. is a poor analysis. Try giving that answer in an engineering context, It's failure Mode should also be TAKEN into account also. Essentially failure of the Powerplant without much warning. Might as well be a broken major component as far as the effect on continued flight iis. Simply LABELLING some as "NAYSAYERS" is BS and insulting. .. Nev
  11. Any rubber shock absorber will deteriorate with use. Maybe number of starts and stops would have an effect. Also is it neoprene or rubber predominantly? Rubber is affected by petrol and mineral oil. Nev
  12. Those who make the rules have to work with what they have and it's hard to predict driver attitude under various conditions. Tired, stressed, running late, Half mad etc. Same with a student pilot. He/She may know how to fly but be an addicted risk taker pushing the boundaries beyond the Planes and their ability but never do it when someone is checking them. Nev

    Airbus A350-1000

I don't think it's written very well. 240 is about the expected min safe speed clean.( No Flap) I would think. The cruise limit should also show a MACH limit for the higher levels VMo/MMo. A landing speed of 150 Knots is pretty quick requiring quite a lot of runway, also Nev
  14. Skip, you are like a stuck record. You don't add much when you just keep repeating the one line . You have more energy to dissipate at high speed and it takes longer to stop and less ability to stay in lanes etc where you should be.. Nev
  15. Pilot survived, I believe. The Much lighter and tail heavy plane didn't have a very high RoD stalled. Think it was near Coal Point. Nev
  16. A Chipmunk threw a prop blade over lake Macquarie and the engine came out..Nev
  17. Pure co-incidence Skip that a carb falling off helped. . You can't logically plead that one unless it was designed that way on purpose. Such designs do exist. The engine mount pins (3) are designed to fail on a jet engine is the loads on it are high enough. Nev
  18. Judgement would be required to asses BAD driving on the roads. Who are you going to leave that up to? Nev
  19. Politicians can't interfere in such matters and avmed may see your actions as hostile. Stress ECGS can Cause heart attacks often about 10 days after.. The older you are the more risky the procedure is. How successful a stent is long term depends on your lifestyle and how blocked your arteries are. Nev
  20. Nah.Turbs, they are outrageously dangerous for Motorcycles and there's an additional covering we chose not to use because it cost more and no one cares about motorcycles really. They can slide under ARMCO too and there's a fix for that. Hitting trees is the alternative to these measures in many places or spearing into the end of a bridge. People drive too fast in fogs floods and rain too. If you go too fast in a plane it may fail structurally. Nev
  21. Few other engines have such an inadequate carburettor attaching set-up. They bolt straight on with a gasket. There's no other way THAT Motorcycle carb can be mounted easily. On the BMW bike it's from the pipe to the aircleaner helps steady it and it's pretty OLD (and cheap) model. Vibrating carburettors with floats can have frothing and flooding issues. Nev
  22. Am I adequately prepared to walk on what I'm flying over? Nev
  23. And a lot of extra "G" at times. Nev
  24. Also you can wash off your (lower) speed more quickly. Nev
