  1. Thanks Bosi, Gippsland is good too - Lakes Entrance was one of our options but is a bit far from the big smoke.
  2. Hi Bosi, Temporary move for 5 or so years - just to explore the east coast easily. We will keep our Albany place to move back to in our dotage.
  3. Hi Bosi, Thanks for these - I have looked at most of these - Murrindini looks good but unfortunately is around the other side of a mountain range. Merton is probably the best realisticly.
  4. Mansfield is an option but is over an hours drive, I will investigate Coldstream as well. Thanks
  5. Sorry - I meant Alexandra, Victoria , Australia , The earth 🙂
  6. Yes true - further up around Alexandra is a bit better. I do realise that I am grasping at straws a bit. Not a lot of flat country around Taggerty.
  7. I am in WA at the moment - but will look next time I am over. Cheers
  8. Hi Red - I have found it on google - thanks
  9. Hi Red, Thanks for this - I have looked at that - but google satellite shows no sign of an airfield there (It is also known as Thornton airstrip) and I cannot find any contact details. It is certainly close enough though. I will do more digging on it.
  10. Thank you rgmwa - I did not mean this to become a slinging match - but it needed a response.
  11. Raaus is australia - VIC in the post title is victoria. Learn to read the post?
  12. Hi Everyone, We are thinking of moving to Taggerty / Alexandra shortly. Does anyone know of a private airstrip in the area that might accommodate a low wing LSA long term? Taggerty airstrip is no longer in use and Lilydale / Coldstream is a bit to far. Thanks for any info.
  13. I use a holesaw then finish with a Drinking glass surrounded with 120 sandpaper. Perfect hole.
  14. And Zenith too http://www.zenith.aero/forum/topics/flygas-intake-manifold Interesting reading - but as with anything like this - subjective
  15. And RANS http://www.ransclan.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-5186.html
  16. Just to add fuel to the fire ? https://teamkitfox.com/Forums/threads/8116-Carb-sync-Never-again?p=66172#post66172 The kitfox group have a discussion on this.
  17. I did a Carburettor balance and made a larger ( temporary) crossover pipe and all ican say is it made a huge difference. Smooth as silk at idle and cruise. I cannot say how much was due to the balance as they were both done at the same time, but logic says to me that a larger crossover will help to make up for any inequalities. So the reason for getting another set of manifolds is so that I can compare the two. I am quite prepared to accept that I am wasting my time, but progress is not made by sitting on ones arse.
  18. Looking to buy a set of Rotax 912 Intake Manifolds to install a larger crossover tubes, a la https://www.flygas.info/2017/06/18/311/ Anyone got any spares? Cheers Murray
  19. Hi Mark, You are probably right - The explanation above was the one given to me by Carmo and I am just repeating it (with little actual knowledge on the subject) They did repair mine and they are working fine - but I am sure that there are different problems that require different solutions. If Friarpuk wants to get new ones - then we get into the soft-start debate .......
  20. Carmo Netherlands [/url]https://www.carmo.nl/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=493_4686_2711_4618&language=en and https://www.rotax-owner.com/en/rotax-forum/4-general-discussion/4350-rotax-912uls-failure-of-both-cdi-modules
  21. I had the same problem - only noticed when both stopped working when cold. The way to test is to get a heat gun or hair dryer and warm the faulty unit for a while (2 or 3 minutes?) and then try to start off only the faulty unit. If it starts then the problem is that the older Ducati unit develop heat related solder cracks, when the unit heats up it the joint expands and contacts and it works OK. This was described to me by the repairers that I send mine to (In the Netherlands, I can't remember the name but google the part number and repair). It cost about $800 for the pair and took about 2 weeks - they haven't missed a beat since. Bear in mind that this is NOT a certified repair. Beats $1600 each new. Note that they do not dismantle the units, they drill at the right spot and the right depth to expose the offending joints, resolder then fill. Cheers Murray
  22. Hi Folks, I am chasing a (for parts) Becker AR4201 - Mine has a broken (Bleeding) LCD. Cheers Murray
