  1. Hi Yenn, I have an anti-glare screen protector on my iPad. Helps enormously with the glare in my RV. May be worth a try.
  2. I have used both OzRunways and AvPlan. Changed to AvPlan years ago and love it. It gives weather displays clearly on the map, and highlights active prohibited areas. I have a glare filter on my iPad and find it readable in a glary RV cockpit. I also use MyFlightBook on my phone to keep my log book. Makes it so easy for she who traditionally struggles to remember to put flights in the log book.
  3. AvPlan does let you turn on, or off, the ability to edit the flight plan on the screen? The default is off, so you would need to touch a spot and add it as a waypoint. Not that easy to do accidentally?
  4. Welcome Aboard!
  5. Cables near the terminal building would be great. Near the car etc. but until they do I'll keep parking the RVs on the grass. But getting the stakes in through the gravel etc in the grass can be quite difficult.
  6. ATSB report refers to minor damage. Investigation: AO-2017-073 - In-flight collision with object, SOCATA TB-10 Tobago, VH-YTG, Parafield Airport, South Australia on 11 July 2017
  7. Either my RV6A or my partners RV9A. Cheers, D'
  8. New airport manager seems good. Very committed. Lots of plans, whether he'll get them across the line remains to be seen. Helped me tie my plane down when I flew in a couple of weeks ago. Home for me is still https://www.facebook.com/justsublime But I work in Melbourne so I get kind of confused ..
  9. My home is up that way. And of course the Ben Buckley stories abound :)
  10. Welcome Aboard! Good thing we're all different. I'd hate long trips in a 4. My 6A lets me stretch. And the 9A has even more space.
  11. Only 8' 10" ....
  12. Glad to see the new parking areas are being used :) Be nice when they put in tie down cables though.
  13. Welcome Aboard!!
  14. Huge achievement! You've built a beautiful aircraft. Welcome to the forum.
  15. Thank you, kind sir.
  16. Flown beautifully a few times since.
  17. Well I'm not sure it currently is, although it probably should be ..
  18. Investigation: AO-2017-005 - Collision with terrain involving Cessna C172M, VH-WTQ, near Agnes Water, Queensland, on 10 January 2017 provides some detail.
  19. Kind of nice if you're approaching in a faster aircraft to hear calls and know what's up ahead. Not always easy to see planes at different altitudes etc.
  20. Kind of an obvious statement. But if the majority are not using area, but using 126.7 for unmarked aerodromes then anyone trying to genuinely gauge the effects and annoyances of using area for this type of chatter will have a skewed view. Maybe if people did follow the rules then any need for change, or not, would be easily gauged. Just a thought.
  21. I notice that ATA (Daz) posted on Sunday to give him a call. Hopefully you are all sorted now.
  22. I think it would be a good place to learn. The facilities seem great, people friendly and the runway is fine. I just need to grow taller in the RV-6A to see what's in front coming in to land :) No issues in the 9A - can easily see ahead of me. Feel free to send a PM and have a chat.
  23. And love the statement in the media Pilot was unharmed but it is not yet clear if the aircraft, which retired from active service in 1971, is damaged Read more: Last Sea Vixen plane does an emergency landing after show | Daily Mail Online Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook
