  1. ATSB report refers to minor damage. Investigation: AO-2017-073 - In-flight collision with object, SOCATA TB-10 Tobago, VH-YTG, Parafield Airport, South Australia on 11 July 2017
  2. Either my RV6A or my partners RV9A. Cheers, D'
  3. New airport manager seems good. Very committed. Lots of plans, whether he'll get them across the line remains to be seen. Helped me tie my plane down when I flew in a couple of weeks ago. Home for me is still https://www.facebook.com/justsublime But I work in Melbourne so I get kind of confused ..
  4. My home is up that way. And of course the Ben Buckley stories abound :)
  5. Welcome Aboard! Good thing we're all different. I'd hate long trips in a 4. My 6A lets me stretch. And the 9A has even more space.
  6. Only 8' 10" ....
  7. Glad to see the new parking areas are being used :) Be nice when they put in tie down cables though.
  8. Welcome Aboard!!
  9. Huge achievement! You've built a beautiful aircraft. Welcome to the forum.
  10. Thank you, kind sir.
  11. Flown beautifully a few times since.
  12. Well I'm not sure it currently is, although it probably should be ..
  13. Investigation: AO-2017-005 - Collision with terrain involving Cessna C172M, VH-WTQ, near Agnes Water, Queensland, on 10 January 2017 provides some detail.
  14. Kind of nice if you're approaching in a faster aircraft to hear calls and know what's up ahead. Not always easy to see planes at different altitudes etc.
  15. Kind of an obvious statement. But if the majority are not using area, but using 126.7 for unmarked aerodromes then anyone trying to genuinely gauge the effects and annoyances of using area for this type of chatter will have a skewed view. Maybe if people did follow the rules then any need for change, or not, would be easily gauged. Just a thought.
  16. I notice that ATA (Daz) posted on Sunday to give him a call. Hopefully you are all sorted now.
  17. I think it would be a good place to learn. The facilities seem great, people friendly and the runway is fine. I just need to grow taller in the RV-6A to see what's in front coming in to land :) No issues in the 9A - can easily see ahead of me. Feel free to send a PM and have a chat.
  18. And love the statement in the media Pilot was unharmed but it is not yet clear if the aircraft, which retired from active service in 1971, is damaged Read more: Last Sea Vixen plane does an emergency landing after show | Daily Mail Online Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook
  19. I whinge about the narrow runway as I can't see it out the side when I'm coming in to land. Does a B200 even fit?
  20. I was there yesterday and will be back today. I fly an RV-6A and his is an RV-9A. I'm planning to go as often as I can in the next few weeks to test fly the 9.
  21. Sorry guys, how about a little respect for the family and friends of the missing pilot. Referring to someone as 'brain dead' isn't helpful to anyone. Myriad of reasons why a PLB may not have gone off, and the obvious one is one I'd rather not dwell on until the facts are known.
  22. Welcome aboard, and good luck with your medical. I'm spending a lot of time going backwards and forwards to Tyabb at the moment. My plane is based at Moorabbin and my partners very new plane is currently at Tyabb. Hence regular ferry flights. Seems like a really nice friendly airport and club.
