  1. Sorry Richard, it was a pure finger trouble. I accidently pressed the wrong button. They are a bit to close together when on a Iphone.
  2. Wayne Fisher unfortunately passed away in an aircraft accident. Emah Siberstein actually made the sails for Wayne. I will PM her phone number to you.
  3. I do understand why cockies out in the bush in Western QLD don't bother with RAA rego and/or renewing their pilot certificates ( if they bothered to have one in the first place ). Why would they ? They fly over their own joints, they are not going to pay money to an organisation on a yearly basis when their GA Licence and rego is for life.
  4. turnips and the leave my breath smelling like i just ate ...............
  5. I have about 600 hours driving Polaris Ranger 500's, at work out in the bush. I used them as my daily drive for a couple of years. Awesome suspension and as they are 3 seaters, they are wide and stable. The Yamaha Rhino at work only being a two seater is a lot more unstable on slopes. The Polaris though go through a few CV joints. Back to the thread, the pilot is a silly billy.
  6. They want farmers to use side by side ATVs instead where they can.
  7. Talking about Quad bikes, did anybody here watch Landline on Sunday ? They were saying that there has been 200 deaths from quad bikes in 15 years here.
  8. Where have you been buddy ? I have missed you.
  9. Alan, known as Head in the clouds, taugh me how to fly . I have had other instructors but he taught me the important stuff. My instruction that finished off my flying was by John McBride many years later. I have had the best instructors when learning. I will be for ever grateful. Cheers
  10. Not the highest hours (31 hours to pilot certificate including GA aircraft) but it took 10 years in 4 different aeroplanes. In order , Piper Tomahawk, Huges Lightwing TW, Drifter and solo at 12 hours and flying it to the 16 hour mark. Then a 8 year break, welcome the Jabiru LSA 55, loved it. Got back up to speed and passed my pilot certificate in it 15 hours after a 8 year break. Oh yeah, I like Jabs.
  11. I hope I didn't sound harsh about Seattle, a nice place, but I found Vancouver and Toronto awesome, more to my interests.
  12. I always wear my protective gear all year round when riding and I agree that it gets very hot up here in QLD in the gear. I shake my head at the muppets riding around in singlets , shorts and thongs. The difference is, I started riding motorcycles at the age of 10, 35 years ago. I know them back to front and I currently own two Ktm's. Both adventure models one is a 640 and the other is an 1190. The retards riding around with no protective gear have probably only been riding for a couple of years and are simply naive to the fact that motorbikes can bite and car drivers drive around with blinkers on.
  13. Maybe a rich mummy and daddy. I am proud in the fact that every single cent I have spent on aviation comes from my own earnings.
  14. Well that's a good enough excuse to blow them off the map.
  15. Yachties sailing around in international waters can have what they want, super yachts have their own arsenals on board because of piracy. The thing is, different countries have different laws when inside their waters like here in Australia.
  16. I went to the fish market and all I could smell was dope from peeps smoking it. (Dope is legal in Washington ). The space needle was alright but nothing to really write home about. Next door to the space needle is a glass art museum or something like that where blown glass is made into sculptures. That was amazing. I didn't have time to go to the Boeing factory tour, but it is brilliant from all accounts. I will definitely go next time I'm there.
  17. Fair enough, this months Aviator magazine mentions that LSA stories are important to them. I think they are going to expand LSA type stories to cover SP going electronic.
  18. Can you write an article and see if The Aviator magazine will publish it ?
  19. Back in the nineties we got a letter from the Queenslands Weapons branch and a letter from CASA to carry my H&K USP 9mm hand gun which was registered to me and at the time I only had a Pistol club licence. In our Piper Archer from Archerfield to Cape York. It was no problem what so ever as long as we kept the ammunition locked in a seperate container to my pistol and of course the pistol had to be locked in its own container as well . I was in the Airforce at the time, but that didnt make any difference. We said the aircraft was going to fly over hostile ( crocs, buffalo ect) isolated country and they said no problem. Of course these days are tottally different with the bleeding heart squads.
  20. I hope we're not paying their way.
  21. Tecnams are very popular here in Oz. I have checked out the P92 Echo super, the Eagette and I have over 100 hours in the in the Golf.
  22. If I had the cash ( which I don't ) I would buy a SW51 over the Titan mustang.
  23. I find that hard to believe, I am apart of the emergency response team at work, because we are isolated, we have have had formal training in Fire and Rescue as well as Hazmat. We wouldn't think twice about cutting a lock off.
  24. Way too expensive for most.
  25. I am an easy going person. I am just taken the wrong way at times. Easily done in text. Nothing like meeting people face to face. I am direct in text simply because I simply don't like typing long posts. I cut things short at times. Which doesn't help the reader. Forums are great but they will never convey how or what a person is saying or feeling. Meeting Keenaviator a few days ago proves the point, a lovely and friendly man with a lot of aviation experience . We are all on the same side with common interests.
