  1. We had a Brumby 610 at Boonah for a very short time. It couldn't climb out of sight in a dark night apparently. The tecnams out performed it left, right and centre. Not to mention it was nearly 18 months too late in delivery. It was sold on very quickly. The hipe didn't turn into reality unfortunately.
  2. I like to think I am. But I cannot stand people spelling Hangar as hanger or gauge spelt guage. But what really jacks me of if lately is does being incorrectly spelt as dose. Seriously what kind of retard does that ? Just sayin, time to move on.
  3. I met you on Friday a Heck field when I went for a ride on my KTM 1190. Isnt it nice to meet people face to face without the perceived internet BS. I was glad to meet you & it is good to hear you made it home, the weather wasnt looking too good when I was talking to you.
  4. At work we have a 23 000 litre diesel bowser. We use Caltex Vortex which feeds Landcruisers and the Hilux plus trucks and earth moving machinery. We have never had a problem with dirty fuel. But we are aware of the expensive damage that can happen with modern injected diesels. We go though around 20 000 litres a week.
  5. Like I said above, if muppets want to sniff petrol, let them. Who gives a toss.
  6. Yes, your picture will be different to mine as I am 180 cm in height. Pilots have a different picture to other pilots . What I am trying to say is that if a pilot flys the same model aircraft and they keep the runway roughly under their wing or roughly in line with another part of the aircraft eg- wing strut. They will fly a more consistent circuit pattern.
  7. I used to fly circuits at Archerfield in a Piper Archer, when I had a C150 in front of us we didnt have a choice, we either slowed downed to their airspeed or we flew a wider circuit to keep station to them. Its not a problem, we are all aviators.
  8. The simplest way is to make sure your wing ( in a low wing aircraft) has the runway within one third of your span under the wing from the tip. In a high wing I have the runway one third up the wing strut. It is a bit hard to explain in words but doing his way, shows that that if further away from the strip, you will be higher above ground if you get the same "picture" from looking from your pilots seat. This sight picture doesnt work in a right hand circuit flying from the left hand seat.
  9. Good point, I didn't think of that.
  10. It's all good Tony, nobody is saying it was you. Like I have said above, it can be annoying but it isn't a problem ( apart from their aircraft not being able to make the runway if they have a engine failure which would be embarrassing). I have seen this happen over the years and generally as low hour pilots get more experience, they will generally tighten up their circuits. Being a old ultralight pilot, we were taught to keep real close to the runway from day dot.
  11. People doing massive circuits jack us all off, but when people are learning, they have a busy work load when flying circuits and naturally their circuits get bigger. They get bigger because they are giving themselves more time in the circuit. Their circuits will tighten up with more experience.
  12. Why do we bother with Opal fuel anyway? If muppets want to sniff fuel, by all means let them. The couldn't possibly kill anymore brain cells as they don't have many to start with.
  13. Yup I flew her when she was brand spanking new, well it had about 20 or 30 hours TT on it from memory.
  14. Why do pilots like Aldo ect, who regulary flys cross country have to do a Nav as a part of their AFR ? Sounds like a money grab to me.
  15. All that is doable as long as you dont stuff up any of the sequences. Obviously if your training area is 20 minutes away then you would add the transit time.
  16. Raa flight review
  17. A flight review shouldn't take anymore than 30 to 40 minutes IMO. That is all mine have ever taken. If it was going to take more than an hour and a half, I would be taking my business elsewhere . Having said that, if a pilot takes an hour and a half because he/she is hopeless. They would probably be better off taking up knitting as a hobby.
  18. I better add, I gave Ozzie a funny, not because the aircraft burning is funny. The funny bit was the part in brackets. He was going to jump out and get help as soon as the noise stopped. Lol. What a classic. I got a good laugh out if that one.
  19. I can only tell people there is a difference between Hangar and Hanger, lose and loose and Gauge and Guage (sic) so many times.
  20. Welcome mate
  21. In QLD People cannot do a u turn at an intersection unless there is a sign saying - U turn permitted. Qld is full of retards who do U turns willy nilly illegally, it jacks me off because just down the road from my place there is a T intersection where we and most cars turn right with a green arrow ( that is heading towards the highway and a massive shopping centre) . But you have to be careful because there is normally a muppet at the same time doing an illegal U turn and heading straight for you.
  22. Apparently one of the undercarriage mounting bolts broke and the safety cable prevented a full collapse. I have not seen any photos or anything, a mate has mentioned the above.
  23. Actually Marijuana was legalised in Washington state back in 2012.
  24. Welcome
