  1. And people wonder why I own KTM motorcycles which are made in Austria, the same country where Rotax 912 engines are made. Simple realy, I want the best. PS- well the expensive ones, some are made by monkeys in Asia, the cheap ones.
  2. Why don't they just Nikasil the bores ?
  3. Yup they open and close on their own purely by aerodynamic force.
  4. Hey FT, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.
  5. I can not view them either
  6. MTOW is a deal breaker IMO.
  7. A lot of the USA back country strips are surrounded by trees. It's just the way it is. Fly behind a reliable engine like this Super STOL is doing.
  8. What a coincidence, I just got back from the cinema's I just watched it as well. Yup pretty emotional.
  9. From the outside looking in, the tri gear RV aircraft seems to have their fair share of problems with the nose gear.
  10. And he didnt have a ballistics computor to work out fall of shot, wind and spin drift ect, like moden snipers have.
  11. The phone is two years old and the Ipad 8 months old. Both seem to charge fine.
  12. I am currently reading a book on Tobruk. It was interesting to read that Italian tanks had two forward gears and five reverse gears.
  13. I have a Iphone and a Mini Ipad. I leave one charger at home and charge both and the other charger I leave at camp in my Donga (FIFO) and charge both.
  14. Yup I have read the Kokoda book by Paul Ham. A great read for anybody interested in what really happened at Kokoda.
  15. Howdy, most of the F1 divers cockpit ( tub) is made of carbon fibre. 60 layers thick.
  16. For what it is worth, formula one use Carbon Fibre as its chassis material. I cannot be that bad in a crash.
  17. The modern officer is a lot different to their predecessor as in the both world wars, people were thrust into being officers from civilian life in a very short space of time. Officers are not born, they are trained and made and it takes time.
  18. Fit a 912 Geoff and reap the benefits of swinging a big prop due to the reduction drive. Of course the nose wheel length comes into play.
  19. The Sting has a strong airframe which is capable if aerobatics, but not in this nanny country. I can't comment on its crashworthness. Pay load is low I think as well.
  20. Missing a bit of knowledge when it comes to both engines.
  21. Aviation is a expensive business, whether right or wrong, CASA have compiled evidence and have acted. Aviation is full if examples where at a stroke of a pen, a aircraft or engine can become very costly for the aircraft owner. This is nothing new.
  22. The trouble with Jones is that he never sees the other side of the story. He makes his mind up on a subject, then he hammers his point. He IMO is very bias.
  23. A Actually I can assure you that it is a fallacy to say that Airforce people don't have to think about time or money constraints. In the nineties, we had to complete with civilian companies for intermediate and deep level maintenance on F111's. It has been the same ever since. The military do not have a open check book.
  24. Thanks Andrew,I nearly missed it.
  25. STOL aircraft fitted with tri gear doesn't seem right to me. I prefer the conventional tail wheel set up for STOL aircraft.
