State Emergency Service (SES) spokesman Phil Campbell said thunderstorm activity was continuing over Campbelltown and Camden and keeping SES volunteers busy. "There's been flash flooding and overflowing of gutters and down pipes in Campbelltown and Camden," Mr Campbell said. "We are looking at further heavy rain and expecting a busy night." Cambridge Avenue in Campbelltown has been closed in both directions due to flooding. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Sydney, the Central Tablelands, the Hunter, Illawarra, Southern Tablelands and South Coast, with heavy rain and flash flooding forecast for later today. Residents of the Liverpool area, in Sydney's south-west, are on flood watch after an overflow from the Georges River closed the Cambridge Avenue causeway between Macquarie Fields and Moorebank. Torrential rains have overwhelmed gutters and stormwater drains in the Nowra and Shoalhaven areas, flooding homes and keeping emergency crews on high alert. Even Sydney's reservoirs received much-needed rainfall with more forecast. The second one-day cricket final between Australia and England was interrupted three times. Makes 'em feel good to win sometimes! Aussie hearts are so big I sometimes wonder how our lungs fit in the same chest cavity. We do the same with the kiwis when we play rugby with them. Ben Longden Posted February 12, 2007 Share Posted February 12, 2007 It blew a gale at Shepp. Aero Club legend KT alerted the crew to the incoming storm cell, and it was all hands on deck to move the squadron into the hangar.
