Old Koreelah Posted June 30, 2021 Nice video, but you’re a long way offshore; on my Victor One trip we were looking in people’s front windows.
Old Koreelah Posted June 30, 2021 Good point, but how wide is this Lane? Unlike the Willie bypass, there’s no indication of width on the charts. 2

Its pretty much left to the pilots as to width ... height is absolute as are the straight line and fly coastal bits. When I have flown it I am more towards the lookin in windows southbound and wishing I was lookin in windows northbound. I am not in a glider ... if it goes silent at 500ft I am wanting to be splashing down very close to the dry bits. 1
Old Koreelah Posted July 2, 2021 My V1 flight was awesome until about a mile off Manly Beach the engine stumbled momentarily. That got my attention. The little Jab was working hard to climb up to the next legal level, but I’d forgotten to switch on the boost pump.
cscotthendry Posted July 2, 2021 We flew it at 80KIAS and it took 18 minutes from Long Reef to Jibbon Point. According to the map for the flight, the video looks about right to me WRT distance offshore at that part of the flight. Fortunately we didn't have any “engine stumbles” on our trip. That would have really puckered the date indeed! Thanks XAIR for sharing the video, enjoyed it. 1 1
waraton Posted December 17, 2021 Can someone point me to the Victor 1 procedures on Oz Runways, have tried to find it in ERSA and AIP and must be having a typical man look.

In ozrunways map click on sydney YSSY and then documents, this will bring up the ERSA for sydney, victor 1 is item 19 in flight procedures. 1
APenNameAndThatA Posted December 17, 2021 I think boating like jackets (eg from BFC) are better than the aviation life jackets that come in the yellow bag. You can put the boating ones on before flight knowing you can inflate them if needs be. 2
Ian Posted December 17, 2021 The Sydney General Flying guide is a good resource. Lots of detail on entry and exit points. https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/pending/aipchart/vtc/SGFG_17JUN2021.pdf
kgwilson Posted December 17, 2021 The helicopter that appears at 1:46 is about the same height and if anyone was going South at that time there would be a potential conflict. It does climb and veer left over the houses after that.
